Simos Yannas studied architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and environmental design at the Architectural Association School in London. He received his doctorate for research on low energy housing design and has taught and carried out research on sustainable environmental design with awards from national and international agencies. His books include Roof Cooling Techniques that was shortlisted for the RIBA International Book Award for Architecture, and Lessons from Vernacular Architecture published 2014. A new book The Environmental Evolution of London Urban Housing is due for publication in 2021. He was awarded the PLEA International Achievement Award.
